Promise Continued through the Patriarchs – Part 6 – Galatians 4

21-24 April

📝 Overview:

Paul compares two sons of Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac, to explain an important idea. Ishmael was born through human effort, while Isaac was born because God promised it. Paul says Isaac represents believers who trust in God’s promises, while Ishmael represents those who try to earn their favor with God through their own efforts.
He says that believers, like Isaac, are set free from the burden of following religious rules because they trust in Jesus. They receive blessings and are heirs of God’s promises. Paul emphasizes that it’s faith in Jesus, not following rules, that brings freedom and blessings.

🤔 Something to think about

You cannot buy God’s love or work for it!
Jesus paid a great prices so that you can be adopted into the family of God. God loves you because He loves you – not because you have done anything to earn His love.
