Fall, Sin & Judgement : Part 5 – Psalms 51

18 – 20 February

Sinfulness from birth

Born in sin? Yes, says scripture.

  • Most people are unaware that the world is born in sin.

Psalm 51:5 For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. (NLT)

  • Yet, God made not just forgiveness available, but cleansing from all sin.

Psalm 51:7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. (NLT)

1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

  • David brought his sin before the Lord. This is key. Confession of sin brings God’s forgiveness and cleansing from it.

Something to think about, then take some time to reflect on your answers

  • Forgiveness only comes as we confess it. God is able to not only forgive but cleanse (make clean).
  • Are there sins you may have not confessed? Make your list and bring those before the Lord.

Sometimes we are misinterpreted because people judge us. Even if we are trying to help or reform after we have done wrong we lose trust in people. It is hard to built that trust again. People look down on you like they are so perfect and they dont do wrong.
We may raise our voice at times just to get a point across to somebody
If they dont know you they will judge you. Even if they are wrong., they will want to be right
Because they are higher than you are.
I believe that truth overcomes lies
    Always.
No matter what people say, God knows you, the person you are, how hard you try
